Amerimeri is a festival that brings together Georgia’s leading natural winemakers to articulate regional identity through indigenous grapes and place-driven practices. Held in Imereti, the event offered a focused view into the diversity shaping contemporary Georgian wine today — from high-altitude western expressions to deeply rooted Kakhetian qvevri traditions. Our Georgian Country Lead, Goga Simonishvili, visited the festival and reports on the producers, regions, and wines that defined this year’s edition.

At this year’s Sparkling Wine Festival in Tbilisi’s Club Underwheel, beneath the glowing Ferris wheel of Mtatsminda, the country’s new wave of bubbly producers gathered to pour Pet-Nats in every shade, debut amphora-influenced cuvées, and showcase the first traditional-method releases. What emerged was a vivid snapshot of a community fizzing with confidence and creativity. The festival proved one thing: Georgia’s future in sparkling wine isn’t just promising it’s already sparkling.
