The first surprise when pouring this wine into a glass is undoubtedly its color. Cherry red, both translucent and with subtle mature brick-like tones, it challenges the drinker to classify it within a wine style. It’s too pale for a red wine, not quite what we expect from orange wines, and it’s not white either. In reality, it’s a white wine with extended maceration. The aroma is mature, with fruity notes reminiscent of ripe cherries and blackberries. Earthy minerality is beautifully intertwined with hints of wood, while a touch of dark chocolate sneaks in from the background, adding its part to the blend of elegant aromas. On the palate, the wine is completely dry. The delicate, elegant fruitiness hinted at by the aroma is complemented by a combination of medium acidity and the warmth of mature alcohols. In addition to the already mentioned fruity notes, subtle spices, such as cloves, can also be detected. This is a serious Pinot Gris that pairs well with richer dishes. Thanks to its higher acidity and alcohol content, it has a long aging potential and will continue to develop interestingly in the bottle for at least another seven years. Maceration: 7 days
