Modri Pinot

The wine immediately reveals the care and dedication the winemaker has put into it. Its relatively dark color for this variety suggests significant extraction and a lengthy maceration process. The aroma is rich and complex, coming to life and revealing its depth after a few swirls in the glass. A larger glass volume suits the wine best. The bouquet is exceptionally intriguing, reminiscent of wild cherry, chokeberry, and medlar, with hints of earthy mineral notes. Over time, delicate forest undergrowth aromas join the mix. On the palate, the wine is pleasant and warm, with exceptionally smooth and soft tannins. The gentle fruitiness of red berries enhances its elegance and sophistication. The wine is mature, well-aged, and ready to drink, yet it also has the potential to evolve further in the bottle for at least another five years. Overripe grapes were macerated for 12 days in vats. The wine then aged for 12 months in used barrels and another year in a large cask. It is medium-bodied, dry on the palate with vibrant acidity and a longer finish. The aftertaste reveals notes of dark chocolate.
